the Khloe Kardashian wisdom

Preach it, Khloe!!!

FACT.  In this life, there will really be that person who just get into your nerves.  That person you can't stand being in the same room with for more than two minutes.  That person who you want to grab a handful of hair and give to your mangkukulam na kapitbahay. :p  You try to be a good person and give a try liking him/her, but for some unfathomable reason, you simply can't!  There's just really those people na hindi mo ka-zodiac sign, let's leave it at that.

Khloe Kardashian might have found the most practical way on how to  deal with people na hindi mo ka-zodiac-sign - RESPECT.   Before, Khloe to me was the bitchiest, funniest, loudest, spunkiest and probably the most difficult to keep up with in the Kardashian household. She has a strong opinion on everything. She speaks her mind, and trust her to hold nothing back.

When I read this tweet of hers, I started seeing her in a different light.  I've also watched her interview on Ellen and how she talked about her support for anti-bullying.  My respect for her just went several levels higher.  The things she say make a lot of sense!  You could say she's now my favorite Kardashian. :)

My girlie Khloe here said, people are different. That's a universal truth.  We are cut out differently, born and raised to different values, have different styles,  respond differently to various things and situations.  This is why disagreements and misunderstandings happen.  They are unavoidable - at the workplace, at home, in schools, at supermarkets, dry market, wet market, market market, everywhere!

When I was a little girl, my knowledge of respect is limited to the use of 'po' and 'opo' when answering to elders, kissing their hands, saying Excuse Me, Please, Sorry, and Thank You when the occasion calls for it.   As I grow older, I realized that there's more to it than just that.

When you're pissed off with your know-it-all bossier than the bossiest employer, telling him to "Go to hell po please" does not make you respectful.  Not even adding a 'Take care po!' with a smile. ;p  I guess "Go to hell" really just don't have a respectful version.

God didn't make this world solely for you. It's made for sharing with people who do not exactly think, speak and act like you do. We can't make everyone agree to what we strongly believe in, in the same way some people can not convince us to change the way we see things.  Differences shouldn't make us enemies.  When someone expresses his twisted opinion about homosexuals or of Lady Gaga's music, you calling him a narrow-minded bastard does not put you on the right.  That's his opinion, this is yours.  Respect it.

Respect even if you disagree.   Be straightforward, if that's your thing, but keep an open mind, and be respectful, if you also want to be respected. At the end of the day, knowing you treated every single person (nice or not so nice), respectfully might make sleeping much sweeter for you. :) After all, we aim for world peace, right? \m/

Earth Run Manila - my first 10k run experience :)

I did it!!! I finished a 10-km run in 1 hour and 22 minutes! Who cares about the 22 minutes? Think,  it's not even half an hour!  22 minutes equals parang wala lang. It's just several blinks of an eye - mga 2000 blinks! hehe.  No bearing diba? ;p  To Justin Timberlake and Madonna who got 4 minutes to save the world, it's like saving the world 5  1/2 times, but they're JT and Madonna naman, for Pete's sake! I'm just ME, the girl from Barangay Tambo Kulit.  So maybe no one will care if I edit my story, just a teeny little bit. Hihi

Take 2!

I did it!!! I finished a 10-km run in 1 hour and a FEW minutes! Hurrah!! (Note to self:  'and a few minutes' part should be said in a fading murmur.)

Now,that's better.. Haha. This rounded-off version definitely goes to my 'Mga Kwento at Chorvas ni Lola Sha'.  Apiiiir!

It was my first time joining a 10k race,  and I wasn't really sure I was ready for it. My mind just concluded that I can at naipagkalat na rin ng tatay ko sa angkan namin na tatakbo ako ng 10k, you see how there's no backing out now.  Dangal na ng pamilya ang nakataya dito!

I am not a professional runner at lalo naman na wala akong kapaki-pakinabang na tips to share for everyone who wants to make a career out of it. I probably survived this race by being one crazy girl, inventing every amusing thought my brain could come up with.

You know how sometimes there's a voice inside you that's so loud, and so unbelievably epal to ignore? All throughout the race, these were what that voice (a mean version of that konsensya in the Safeguard commercial) was telling me.

"You wanna faint now? Go ahead! That's if You really wanna be headlines that way! ;p"

"You feel like peeing? You are imagining things! You left your pantog at home, remember?!"

"Are you and your lola, batchmates?"

"Why would you want to be the 1000th finisher, when you can be the 998th? Go run past that sweet-sweetan couple in front of ya! Ruuuuuun!"

So I run, and run, and run, pretending like my legs don't hurt and like the dogs of hell are running after me! I also imagined all sorts of things waiting for me in the finish line:

And this next photo, nagdedeliryo na yata ko sa pagod kaya eto na naiisip ko:

And holy yummy ravioli, it actually worked! It was  so fun and exhilarating that upon nearing the finish line, I felt like I can do 3km more. EXTRA CHOSS ;p

Here's a photo of me after the race, with all that pawis at ngiting-tagumpay! ;p

mom, you're amazing.

Mama is amazing. I know I said this so many times and I will still say it over and over and over again, because her 'amazing-ness' is like that, never ending! Just recently, I added something to my what-makes-mama-so-amazing list which may have topped all the awesome things she is and all the wonders she has done for me, so far.

Something that has been upsetting me for weeks made me broke down in front of mama. I cried my eyes out with matching singhot-sigok-singhot, in between rants. I can't even remember the last time I cried like that with her seeing me. You see, most of the things that worry me, I try to not let mom know. I think I'm such a big girl now, I'd deal with them like a katipunera would. I had thought there's no point worrying her when I could face them on my own. I thought mom was a softie, the 'you cry, I cry' kind of mom. I was so wrong to think of all those things. That was underestimating her. tsk tsk.

Because that night she patiently listened and stayed by my side while I cried a river, it just hit me how strong she actually is and how she's always been my rock. :) So God, this post is to thank You for my out-of-this-world-amazing trouper mama. =*
