my OJT xp

Uyeah! I am done with it! I am through running after jeepneys with Guadalupe signboards every morning, done with planning my every-day outfit, through with LRT surfing, done with standing in buses with sweaty smelly people like me after a long day's work. All because I am done with my 200-hour on-the-job training at Planters Development Bank Branch Operations and Support Department.

This means watching DVDs all day long, sleeping late ( i mean at dawn) and waking up very late, walang-sawang gala with friends, from this day forward until the start of the semester! Uyeah! The life of a bummer.

But the truth is, I will surely miss the time I spent in PDB. In my entire life, I have seen a lot of kind people but can't remember being treated this kindly by people who barely know me.

For 26 days (1 day to make up for the days I arrived later than 8:30 according to the 15-minute late Bundy clock), I have done a bunch of purely clerical stuffs. From dispatching letters, delivering reports, routing, answering telephones, trips to the photocopying sections, down to scanning, encoding, counter-checking, filing, sorting and the like. I actually expected this kind of experience long before I started my OJT. Thank the Heavens they don't ask trainees to make their coffee or I'll be graded way way low when it comes to the quality of work. My coffee tastes as sweet as honey.

There are a few things I will surely, truly miss in PDB:
~having decent quiet breakfast in the canteen
~afternoon and after office hours tambay in the benches of the smoking area.
~my soft-spoken co-intern Wena girl and her PSP that rescued me from boredom.
~my crush, oh gosh
~the trips to the elevator (a quarter of my life in PDB I had spent here)
~Ate Binay & the rest of the canteen crew
~staring at the cute gay afternoon-shift janitor at the 7th floor
~my other co-interns
~Nikka and her stories of kilig
~picking up the phone with my most-rehearsed line "Hello, Planters BOSD Good morning/afternoon"
~my superiors, most especially my kababayan Ma'am Liza who occupies the table at my right
~hearing Ma'am Cathy's hearty laugh
~singing at the stairway where my voice sounded terrific

Everyone in there had been so kind to me. My very loyal mom said "Eh kasi siguro dahil mabait ka din." Our mothers, no doubt, are our biggest fans.

To PDB people, especially to those in the 7th floor right wing, I will forever treasure those 206.5 hours (oh yes, I've exceeded!) I had spent with you. 206.5 hours that got me tired, bored, excited, powered up, inspired, and a lot of other things. Thank you for a very wonderful experience. Now that I am done 'planting', I hope I will be missed even half as much as I will miss you guys. More power!
