If I'm the president's advisor, I will convince him to declare Valentine's Day a holiday. He declared Chinese New Year this year a holiday, what difference does this one have?! Okay sige, kahit hindi na national holiday, declare it a holiday kahit FOR SINGLE LADIES ONLY. Haha! I was working 'til midnight Feb 14 last year, that's why. Medyo depressing kaya. One, wala kang jowa. You feel like pinagkakaisahan ka ng lahat ng couples around you na magka-holding hands, si Ate may karay-karay pa na bouquet of flowers on one arm walking like a beauty queen, kulang na lang sash at sceptre. Ikaw na te! Two, you can't run to your other single pals for your own celebration slash damayan session. Three, and allow me to reiterate, Chinese New Year nga dineclare na holiday, bakit hindi ang Valentine's! Do you think I can convince Mr. President with these grounds? Come on single ladies, back me up on this one! We sure could use another free day! Hahahaha!
Pero from the bottom of my heart of gold, I wish couples all the best on this special day (extra special sa mga kumpare natin sa Dangwa, Bear Cuddler outlets and all chocolate stores out there - lakas ng benta men!). May you have many more years of happiness together. I wish you both good health and a successful future ahead of you. Happy Birthday! Engk.. Mali na naman? Haha
I may sound like someone who eats ampalaya with coffee granules as toppings for merienda, pero sa totoong buhay, I don't, and I'm really not a bitter person. :) I am actually a sucker for anything nakakakilig. BIG TIME! Chick flicks, pre-nuptial videos, wedding vows, romance novels, marriage proposals, stories of old married couples, you name it! Sa office, when a colleague senses that I chance upon something kakilig-kilig from the web, she would literally distance herself from me because she knows I have this need to hit anything, something, oftentimes her arm, kapag kinikilig ako. Bayolente daw ako pag kinikilig. hehe di ko macontain, pasensya naman! =)
I have here some V-day treats for all you sucker-for-kilig mushy people like moi! These are some of the articles / videos I tumble on the internet that made me so giddy like a highschooler, I had to bookmark them. Naka-folder yang mga bookmarks na yan, kala mo! Re-browsing through them helps a lot during bad-hair days. :)
The Obamas
Did Mrs. Obama just call Mr. Obama - the President of the United States and no doubt one of the most powerful people in the world - CUTE? Ang cute cute lang!! They look really beautiful together, don't they?
Coach Rio's Marriage Proposal
Very original ang proposal! Ikaw na ang maharana ng Up Dharma Down! Yiiiiii! If you haven't seen this vid, click mo dali! ♥
Brangelina
Brad leaving Jennifer for Angelina, is just, tsk tsk. Pero magmu-move on na ako dahil mukha namang nakamove on na rin silang lahat. So when Brad said this of Angelina in one of his interviews, napaisip ako na Ay talaga nga sigurong meant to be sila.
"One of the greatest, smartest things I ever did was give my kids Angie as their mom. She is such a great mom. Oh man, I'm so happy to have her."
Reese Witherspoon on hubby
"Jim (asawa ni teh) said, 'I'm gonna show you every day what a good partner is. I'm going to take care of you. I'm gonna do this so much that you're gonna get used to it,' " the actress says. "I was like, 'What are you talking about?' I've never had anybody like that in my life."
Awwww, really!
Matt Damon on wifey
Last sa mga kumare at kumpare ko sa Hollywood! I adore Matt Damon. He's one of my favorite actors. Isa pa, lakas ng vibes ko na mabuting tao talaga siya. Kung siya pa rin siguro ang bida sa Bourne Legacy, um-absent ako sa trabaho para sundan at tumangla sa shoot dito sa Pinas. Hehe.
"I would be hopeless without Lucy (his wife of 6 years)."
"I just see in my wife... the way she can talk to our kids and I am just thankful that she is there."
Jay and Dani wedding
Found this video from Patty Laurel's blog. It might be so wonderful to have all your loved-ones contribute tidbits of wisdom on how to build a strong marriage. ♥
O last na, I don't know these people, pero I was moved by their testimonials. Nakakadiabetic sa pagka-sweet!
"I'm not perfect, so I definitely don't expect (my girlfriend) Cate to be," says Ben, 29. "I love her, all of her, physically and mentally; I'm sure I would still love her if she dropped 10 pounds or dyed her hair pink, but I think she's exceptional just the way she is."So sweet naman of Ben, kung sino man siya. hehe
"She works in an elementary school," says Samuel, 49, of his wife, Annie. "I love watching her with her kids. It's absolutely amazing to see the way they respond to her. And when I see how fulfilled she is in her career, I'm just so happy to have married a beauty with brains, too."
Patrick, 33, loves that his wife wears her bright red hair in a spiky pixie cut and refuses to wear high heels. "She knows what works for her, and I love that!" he says. "She used to do ballet, so she said after years of being up on her toes, she's going to wear flats from now on. Honestly? I don't care. She'll always be sexy to me, no matter what she wears or how she looks."
"She sings completely off-key," says Ivan, 38, of his wife, Rachele. "It's so endearing. When she sings in the shower, it's a beautiful, terrible symphony that never fails to make me smile."
And this has got to be my absolute favorite:
"She's only gotten more lovely with age," says Henry, 81, of his wife Edith. "Neither one of us have the bodies we used to, but I love each wrinkle and stretch mark. They're a testament to the life we've shared together. I didn't fall in love with her because she looked like Ava Gardner (which she did); I fell in love with her because she was the sweetest girl in the world, and that hasn't changed in over 50 years of marriage."
Aguuuuuy! Lolo Henry, you're such a sweetheart! :) May apo ka ba? Haha
O sya sya, next Valentine's Day na ulet! Live, Love and Laugh a lot, my loveys, oki? ♥
